The New London Public Works Department provides weekly curbside pickups for solid waste and single-stream recycling. TheMore city's transfer station is also available to residents who wish to dispose of garbage, furniture, scrap wood and other acceptable items. The station is only open for use by New London residents who have purchased a permit.

The New London Community Meal Center serves regular lunches and dinners for those in need. A nurse is also on duty twiceMore a week. The center accepts volunteers as well as people who need to perform community service for court or school. The operation was run by the Mount Olive Seventh Day Adventist Church until 2000, when the center became a corporation run by a board of directors.
