Dirk, I'm begging you to change the format back. You are quickly be moving irrelevant because no on…Read More can find anything. Please review number of comments as proof of your demise. Save yourself.

If you want to identify the problem, just look around that table. Please go away. You've screwed…Read More the fort up at every turn and you don't deserve another chance. Sternloff, Joplin, Johnson must go. And truth be told, with a few notable exception, the people making up the former nldc are there for their ego and their blind support of the aforementioned incompetents and their cocktail party relationships.

I had to laugh this morning when reading The Day's "editorial" on this matter. What really…Read More cracked me up was the line about the real estate market improving. Really? Then why are half the units in Harbour Towers still available? Why do sellers keep reducing prices and still find no buyers? It is worthy of note The Day chose NOT to allow comments on that bit of drivel.

I find it fascinating that this story isn't being covered by the State's media or even national…Read More media for that matter. Surely the Citizens of this country would LOVE to know what the aftermath of the historic Supreme Court's decision in the Government's favor??? Is this no longer news worthy??

Please dissolve the NLDC/RCDA Mayor Finizio!!
How could the city let a land of such value be given…Read More away for a private entity to make a profit? Especially after tearing out the hearts of so many residences by enacting Eminent Domain, which was so highly contested by the city, and proving to be completely ignorant of the potential risks in speculating corporate and real estate growth. Shame on the city, let there be reparation!!

No offense and with all due respect, Ms. Fitzgerald, but the foundation you have directed for the…Read More past 18 years is a "discretionary" agency of our society, not an organ of its democratic systemizations.
While it surprised me not in the least that the foundation would exercise its discretionary authority to focus on "women and girls" as though their problems, issues and concerns legitimized such a suprirsingly and blatantly sexist emphasis, I do concede that this is appropriate to discretionary authority. I am reminded of Augusta National Golf Course prohibitions against females.
I salute and support Community Foundation purposes, intents and activities. But we ought call a spade a spade, madam, not present as though social services were what they were back in your and my great-great-grandparents days: at the discretion of the wealthy, who would pick and select the "right" causes to be emphasized and funded, thank you very much.
Excuse me, but I must say that whenever I've been in the company of Community Foundation folk, I sure do feel like I'm in a corporate boardroom. Everybody seems to be dressed so very well, incomed more than adequately, and, well, very well educated. My dictionary suggests that's an "elitist" atmosphere; but I could be wrong.
Best wishes on your retirement and continued involvement with our region's needs and causes. Anyone who can get the wealthy up off their duffs to participate in social services for the vast majority of us who will never be called wealthy is someone for whom I would eagerly stand and applaud, period.
Perhaps you might organize a foundation look into a possible program for a "men and boys' fund.?" That Boys and Girls Club of Southeastern Connecticut sure could use some help.

What we need is manufacturing jobs of some kind. We have the building the land and the people who…Read More I'm sure would be willing to work for a fair wage. That what are elected official and major should be trying to get in to N.L. Not more condos or rental. If we could get factories of some kind to move here then you may see our house pick up weather buying or renting. Maybe if there a bigger enough demand for housing City Flats could have a shot.

I agree that the taxes and regulations are onerous for business, but hope that will change. I do…Read More think workforce quality here is exceptionally good and living conditions quite good as well. What can I say but I miss Governor Rell!

the appearance shows neglect by the landlord. trim at eaves is falling off (Underlying/extensive…Read More water damage?), paint is curling away (same water problem?) the interior has those ugly ugly HVAC ducts looming above the patron area, for a restaurant, that's just sick.
I think a nice McDonalds Burger joint would make a million bucks right there, jam up traffic, employ a slew of downtown liver's and keep those transient vendors during those so called 'Festes, at bay. Of course, the current mentality in the city would prevent that from happening, one way or another. I'll be long dead before that happens, but my ghost will be laughing when it does.

it would be really great to have a store with organic products... lets go green in new london!

Get rid of the graffiti. It detracts from the value. I really don't like people that put graffiti on…Read More places they don't own. New London is better than the graffiti people.

I own a Can Am Spyder. I was never a kid on a dirt bike but I am a middle aged woman who would…Read More rather spend my money in New London than ride miles to have my Can-Am Serviced. I would think that with all the marina's in the area that having this dealership in New London would bring people in to our city that have no idea what it has to offer. My husband and I have found many businesses in Groton that we never would have known about while bring our bikes to Mike's Famous Harley Davison!
