Flag as Inappropriate

Founded in the 1840s, the St. Mary of the Sea Roman Catholic Church originally catered to the Irish workers at Fort Trumbull from a Bank Street storefront. The church moved to its current location in 1876, and now has Spanish-language services to cater to the approximately 50-percent Hispanic congregation. The church is also active in charitable activities, maintaining a food pantry, Sunday soup kitchen and Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
