New London City Hall

The New London City Hall is the center of most government functions for the community. Built in 1856, the building was remodeled in 1912 by New London architect James Sweeney to its current classical Beaux-Arts exterior. The city clerk, treasurer, tax assessor, registrar of voters, personnel and mayor's offices are based here, along with a state probate court. The City Council meets bimonthly on the third floor.
