LQM Gallery Presents 'Ink & Ink' Exhibit Opening
Saturday, 6 a.m. - 'INK & INK' is LQM Gallery's newest exhibition featuring four Chinese artists taking part in the ICAS (International Contemporary Art Space) International Residency program. Masters of the traditional artform of Chinese Ink Painting, each has their own beautiful and distinctive style. From loose and free flowing strokes to technical and elegant fine line work, the paintings express the interests and passion each of these incredible artists have for their work. Though each has a unique background and style, collectively these four artists have a strong interest and belief in the fundamentals and tradition involved with classic Chinese Ink Painting. Drawing inspiration from Chinese art of the Song Dynasty and Contemporary masters as Qi Baishi and Pan Tianshou, these artists are masters in their own right, executing their work precisely yet in a manner which is flowing and effortless. The exhibit runs from Sept. 14th to Sept. 29th and is free and open to the public with complimentary refreshments. Along with this exhibition, the artists will also be available to meet with and work along side local artists and members of the community interested in participating in group discussions of artwork and culture as well as group figure drawing and landscape painting sessions.
