Exploring the Paranormal: Monte Cristo Book Shop hosts a discussion of the paranormal at 4 p.m. on Saturday with Louisa Oakley Green, author of Loitering at the Gate to Eternity, a book featuring more than 100 paranormal stories from family, friends and four professional psychics. A question and answer period with this former skeptic turned true believer will be followed by a book signing. Art, Tango, and Tapas: A fundraiser for Expressiones, will be held at the Historic Thames Club, 290 State Street, in New London from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.. Money raised will be used to support Expressiones mission to build multicultural bridges through artistic and educational endeavors. Fall Foliage Cruise on The Thames: Friends of the New London County Historical Society offers a fall foliage cruise on the Cross Island Sound Ferry Jessica W to Norwich and back from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.. DIY Festival at New London Public Library: From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., New London Public Library, 63 Huntington Street, offers experts demonstrating how to do all manner of things, from home brewing the perfect beer to raising chickens. Each DIY presentation will run about 20 to 40 minutes and all of them are free. Fiddleheads First Annual Co-op Fair: Fiddleheads Food Cooperative is celebration of National Co-op Month and the International Decade of the Cooperative with a co-op fair from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Representatives from regional cooperatives, including consumer cooperatives and worker cooperatives, will be sharing information about their organizations and about the cooperative model. East Meets West—Art And Discussion: 'East Meets West: A Prospective' is LQM Gallery's newest exhibition featuring four Chinese Women artists taking part in the ICAS (International Contemporary Art Space) International Residency program. The artists will be available to meet with the public at the show opening Saturday October 19th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  

Prior to the opening, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., LQM's four Chinese resident women artists Ben Ni, Yuling Guan, Chunli Xu, Shuyun Zhang will be joined by six local female artists Bridget Grady, Leeah Joo, Judith Osborne, Afarin Rahmanifar (Host), Rebecca Moran, Blanche Serban to discuss their artwork, cultures, inspirations and issues facing women artists today.

Tour Ye Antientist Burial Ground. Find out more about one of the earliest burial grounds in New England with Hempsted Houses Site Historian Sally Ryan and conservator Lance Mayer. Join the CircUs: Starting at 6 p.m. on Sunday night at the Bean & Leaf, 463 Bank Street, New London, the Star Pattern CircUs tribe shares circus arts, from flying yoga to hooping there is fun for everyone to watch or participate!
