Community Corner

Food Stroll, Ronny Cox, Common Ground

At the top of the list of things to do in New London Main Street’s calendar this week is one of the organization’s biggest fundraisers and downtown events. Nearly 50 restaurants are participating in the Spring Food Stroll, running from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. It’s still possible to get a button to attend, although the prices are now $30, with $5 discounts for students and military personnel.

Another good way to connect with the community arrives on Sunday, when the third annual Neighbor Day comes to Riverside Park. The celebration runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and includes music, dancing, arts and crafts, race car displays, and more.

On the music scene, Friday Night Folk welcomes Ronny Cox, Chojo Jacques, and David Glaser to the stage. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church; tickets are $20 at the door, $17 in advance, and $10 for students with ID. Regular music sets include the Common Ground acoustic open mic starting at 7 p.m. tonight at the Bulkeley House Saloon, Richard Zack’s fingerstyle guitar at 8 p.m. on Friday at Bean and Leaf, and Sunny Morning Lala at 10:30 a.m. at Bean and Leaf
