Viewfinder - New London Penguin Plunge

Chilling For A Cause

More than 350 supporters of Special Olympics took the Penguin Plunge at Ocean Beach Park Sunday braving a brisk breeze and chilly water.  Many individuals came with friends and groups from the New London Rugby Football Club and New London High School were also represented.  Although each plunge lasted only a few seconds the memories of the good cheer will carry on for some time to come.

I'd like to thank Dave for getting the beach ready for this plunge. This the first plunge I was not able to make. But I think people should know the work and time Dave puts into making sure this event and many others go off with out a hitch. While the boardwalk was under complete construction Dave had us get the section by the mini golf done so the plunge could go on and with his dedication to the Special Olympics and allthe other non-profit events. Dave as Ocean Beach Manager has turned Ocean beach into the gem we all new it could be. Thanks Dave for your dedication to the Beach and making it a fun and safe place for kids of all ages.
