Fort Trumbull was a center for recruiting and training Union troops during the war. It was also the headquarters for the 14th Infantry Regiment.

Volunteers should meet at the fort’s visitors center at 8:30 a.m. and receive a T-shirt and patch. Friends of Fort Trumbull has donated supplies for the day, but volunteers should bring their own work gloves, face mask, and protective eyewear. A lunch and light snacks will be provided.
