Basketball Court Rebuilding Project Begins Saturday

U.S. Coast Guard cadets, Salvation Army, Kiwanis Club of New London, and the New London Housing Authority will join forces to spruce up the basketball courts at the Crystal Ave. Apartments

 

The cadets, , Kiwanis Club of New London, and the are teaming up this weekend to fix up the the basketball courts at the Crystal Ave. Apartments, U.S. Coast Guard Academy communications director David Santos told Patch in an email.

According to Santos' email, the cleaning and rebuilding task, part of the Project Renewal program, will take place on Saturday, March 24 and Sunday, March 25.

The City of New London will provide the team with a dumpster for waste removal at the site, and according to the email, a paving contractor will resurface the court. 

Santos announced in his email that the New London Housing Authority will pay for the basketball court's new backboards and rims.
