What Can Help New London Emerge from The Great Economic Funk?

A friend of easymeeting.net located in Calgary, Alberta called Work Shift Calgary has been putting together a new way to work model that is gaining serious attention and traction not only in Calgary and Canada but across North America. 

Calgary not unlike New London although much larger of a city still was and is suffering from brain drain whereas the best and brightest are either moving out or are not available to fill positions at companies. In addition the program focuses on knowledge sharing, saving the environment by better utilizing technology and creating a more modern work space. 

Video Conferencing in all shapes and forms is readily available and still suffers from lack of adoption in the local work place. Traditional work models mean 1- you drive to meet someone, 2- you travel to meet someone, 3- you use the telephone to meet someone. This equals stress on your workers, your work environment, the family, and the natural environment. What cannot be done with video conferencing? Yes face to face are important and should continue... relationship building is critical and yes golf and cocktails are important aspects of the business world however traditional businesses lack an understanding of how they can better benefit from the use of Work Shift models and technology. In many cases the employees are aging and the company is suffering from lack of qualified new hires and candidates. 

Being in New London there are engineering companies and small Bio-Science companies. They should be utilizing technology to communicate with dealers, resellers, R&Ds, sales teams, and more all outside of their company.
