Dont smell the air

The shop is dusty, but that's an understatement.  Its more chalky, granular and sooty.  I still get stars in my eyes when a car goes out the door spotless because little does the owner of the condition the car looked to be in only an hour before.  There is a magic about a shiny car.  Show room floors know this and polish the displays clear of wandering, greasy fingers that touch just to be sure its real.  There seems to be a cult like appeal for those who religiously wax their expensive vehicles -- I imagine the Grinch-like grin taking over the mouths of those who wax at home.  All of the time and effort for the perfect shine because the alternative is not pleasant.  Looking at an arenose car is unpleasant; it reminds me of the junkyard.  This place looks like a junkyard at times, with most cars denied an old cracked bumper and laying to wait for the new one to come in, be painted, then united with its new position (the head or rear of the car).  Have you ever tried to wipe thick dust with a wet rag?  It takes some care, a certain kind of know-how to remove thick soot.  Bring in your cars dirty.  Even if it takes a month to fix, it will come back to you good as new.  But before then, it will be dusty.
