Bike New London Offers Cycle Shares To OpSail 2012 Visitors

Get around on a bicycle for free during the weekend's festivities

Bike New London will take its cycle share program to this weekend to offer free rentals to any interested visitors to OpSail 2012 and Sailfest.

The volunteer organization will set up outside the station from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. The bike share program allows people to borrow a green and yellow bicycle, along with a helmet and lock, in exchange for a waiver and identification form as well as a $10 deposit. The program usually runs out of the parking garage on Eugene O’Neill Drive.

“Bike New London is very lucky to get this prime spot during New London’s biggest event of the year,” said Rob Bareiss, chairman of Bike New London.
