New London Youth Football Juniors Headed to the Superbowl!

A 45-13 win over Norwich puts them one step from the ultimate prize.

The New London Youth Football Juniors advanced to the Superbowl with a 45-13 win over rival Norwich Saturday.

"I told my kids throughout the whole week, 'Look at the scoreboard' while the scoreboard was off while we were practicing," said Head Coach Calvin Fort. "I told them, 'You don't want that visiting side saying 20-0 … we gotta go out and act fast and think big.'"

And that's exactly what the players did, according to Fort.

Fort singled out James Smith, Jalen Benson, Jusice Ferris and Nicholas Fleetwood for great running, and Adonis Smith had a few touchdown passes. Backup quarterback Thomas Manual connected with his cousin Elijah Robinson for a touchdown.

The defense, too, was stout.

"We played a physical game and I'm very proud of my boys and I am very proud of my coaching staff," Fort said. "We are going to the Superbowl!"
