Spectator footage from a varsity boys' basketball game last week

Though we can only offer you so much high school sports coverage, we try to get the scores out on Twitter and Facebook when they're sent in through a service offered by the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference. So we know that while hasn't quite matched its from last year, but it's still doing pretty well.

According to CIAC, New London is 8-2 for the season. The losses have each been close games: Hillhouse took a 64-61 contest on Dec. 17, and St. Joseph won a 57-52 game on Jan. 6. The team's most decisive victory came on Dec. 23, when they crushed Killingly with a 105-55 result.

Today's YouTube pick offers a look at the Jan. 6 game, an away contest against East Lyme High School. The ELHS boys put up a pretty good fight, as this footage shows the low-scoring game wrapping up with a 33-20 result at halftime. New London expanded the gap in the second half, however, earning a 74-44 win.
