College competitions will also be slowing down due to the upcoming holidays, with no new competitions until after Christmas. The Coast Guard Academy and Mitchell College started their winter breaks on Friday, while Connecticut College's time off begins on Wednesday.

In the past week, each school's athletic competitions have been limited to a handful of basketball games. Mitchell College's only game in the past week was a cross-town showdown with Conn College on Dec. 11, in which the Camels bested the Mariners 83-74. Connecticut College's record improves to 4-5 while the Mitchell men fall to 5-4. Matt Vadas, a Conn College junior, had 23 points and crossed the 1,000 point threshold in the game.

Connecticut College had one additional game, as the women's basketball team took on Roger Williams. The Camels fell short in the 68-62 result, with their record for the season evening out at 5-5.

The Coast Guard Academy men's team couldn't quite get past Roger Williams, dropping a 49-46 result on Dec. 11. The team also lost to Marymount 72-55 on Sunday, bringing its record down to 1-7 for the season.
