New London, NFA Football Teams to Face Off and Bulk Up This Friday
The football rivals will be amping up the competition in a weightlifting event this Friday at New London High School.
New London High will get an early chance to test its might against football rival Norwich Free Academy at a weightlifting competition this Friday, the Norwich Bulletin reports.
This year's battle between the two teams is replacing the annual Eastern Connecticut Conference weightlifting competition, the Bulletin said.
“For our kids, at the end of the season in December, they commit themselves to the weight room,” NFA coach Jemal Davis said in the Bulletin. “This is their opportunity to put this on their calendar and say at the end of the offseason, ‘These are my goals. How am I going to go out and compete in a competitive environment?’"
The event starts at 5:30 p.m. Friday at New London High School.
