The Whalers fell behind in the early part of the game, but rallied to defeat the Crusaders 56-48. New London will next play on Monday to face Windsor, ranked fourth in the division, following their 82-56 win over Hamden on Thursday.
The Whalers trailed early in the game, with the score standing at 14-10 against Holy Cross at the end of the first quarter and 26-20 at halftime. New London managed to catch up in the third quarter, surpassing the Crusaders 36-35 with about a minute left.
The Whalers held on to the lead in the fourth quarter, but Holy Cross remained close behind for the remainder of the game.
New London's record improves to 20-2, while Holy Cross finishes the season at 15-7.
