Middlebury Knocks Out Conn College In Volleyball

Panthers end Conn College volleyball season

Middlebury College held off a challenge from Connecticut College in the New England Small College Athletic Conference on Friday, winning a volleyball competition. The following information was provided by William Tomasian, sports information director at Connecticut College:

Defending champion Middlebury defeated Connecticut College 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-18) in the quarterfinals of the NESCAC Volleyball quarterfinals on Friday evening at Morrell Gymnasium.

The third-seeded Panthers improve to 20-7 this fall and will face second-seeded Tufts in the semifinals of the championship on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. The Camels finish their season with a record of 18-9.

Jane Handel dominated the court, posting a game-high 17 kills against just two errors with 10 digs in the victory. Megan Jarchow and Amy Hart had nine kills each while Julia Gibbs dished out 41 assists and notched five service aces.

Amy Newman closed out her decorated career with 16 kills and nine digs for Connecticut College. Ally Terlizzi had 11 digs while Katie Ketcham dealt 28 assists.
