The first period was back and forth with both teams creating quality opportunities to get onto the board. Connecticut College was successful on capitalizing on one those opportunities, scoring 6:13 into the period. Senior forward Lauren Posillico (Nesconet, N.Y.) took a point blank shot, which rebounded directly to the stick of senior Jillian Dolliff (Excelsior, Minn.), who slid the puck into the open net.

The period finished with Connecticut College outshooting Nichols 10-9.

The Camels added on to their lead with another goal in the second period. At 14:44 Murphy fed a pass to junior Sam Shuffenecker (Oswego, N.Y.) who fired a shot from the top slot which was redirected by first year forward Shelley Moore (San Jose, Calif.) over the blocker of the goalie.

Connecticut College came out strong in the third and at 5:41 netted their third goal when sophomore Louise Bulow Andersson (Alingsas, Sweden) passed the puck across to Murphy who fired a slap shot beating the goalie high blocker side. Later in the period at 14:13, sophomore Olivia Farrell (New York, N.Y.) found junior Ariel DiPasquale (Whitestone, N.Y.) in front of the net who slid the puck into the lower right corner of the net. Nichols had a chance late in the period to get on the board when first year forward Alyssa Bufis (Linden, N.J.) nearly slipped the puck past junior goaltender Amy Leichliter (West Chester, Penn.) who made a great save.

The Camels outshot Nichols 32-25 as Connecticut College went 1-3 on the power play while the Bison went 0-3. Leichliter improves to 2-2 with the shutout win while Nichols first-year goaltender Rebecca Cohen (Raleigh, N.C.) falls to 1-2 despite a 21 save effort.

Nichols (4-8-1) completes the two-game homestand on Friday, January 13th as the Bison open a home-and-home weekend series with ECAC East opponent Manhattanville at 7:40 p.m. Connecticut College (3-4-1) hosts Bowdoin for a NESCAC weekend set beginning Friday at 7:00 p.m.

Men's Ice Hockey: Conn College 4, Curry 2

The Connecticut College men's hockey team erupted with two scores in a span of 2:58 in the third period and held on for a 4-2 victory against visiting Curry College in a non-conference game played at Dayton Arena Wednesday.

The Camels improve their record to 3-7-1 with the triumph, while the Colonels slip to 7-3 in the setback.

Senior Sean Curran (Wilmette, Ill.) continues to pile up the points for the Camel. The senior co-captain sandwiched a goal around two assists and continues to lead the New England Small College Athletic Conference with 14 assists.

JC Cangelosi (Estero, Fla.) chipped in with a goal and an assist. J.J. McGregor (Wichita, Kan.) tallied two assists. Senior co-captain Lucas Chavira Schramm (Phoenix, Ariz.) scored the eventual game-winner from the right point with 5:36 remaining in regulation for Connecticut College.

Connecticut College senior net-minder Andrew Margolin (Mahwah, N.J.) collected 14 of his 31 saves in the third period to earn the victory for the hosts.

Curry College senior forward Payden Benning (Estevan, Sasketchewan) accounted for the visitors' offense, potting goal #12 and 13 for the Colonels.

Senior forward John Williams (Flourtown, Pa.) assisted on both goals.

Junior Joe Dawson (Woodbury, Minn.) finished with 27 saves in the loss for Curry.

Benning buried a power play goal with 6:30 remaining in regulation to tie the game at 2-2. However, the Camels responded less than a minute later when Cangelosi and Curran assisted Schramm for the score that put the Camels on top for good.

Later on with 2:38 to go, Cangelosi broke into the scoring column, finishing in an odd man rush with Curran and McGregor providing the assistance.

Margolin took care of the rest, denying the visitors any further opportunities to get back into the contest with some stellar play in the goal.

Benning opened the scoring for Curry with a goal at 2:29 of the second period. But the Camels scored the next two goals to pull ahead.

Mike Martinez (Orchard Park, N.Y.) supplied the equalizer just 33 seconds later. Will Einstein (New Canaan, Conn.) and Zach Jones (Gibsonia, Pa.) assisted on the marker.

Later on in the second, Curran netted his third goal of the season on the power play in 2-on-1 situation against Dawson. Curran and Julien Boutet (Amos, Quebec) broke free and were joined by McGregor in the odd man rush.

Sophomore Kevin Reich (Montvale, N.J.) provided some clutch defensive play for Connecticut College, playing smart, physical, hockey in all three zones of the ice.
