First Annual Down by the Riverside Festival

Friends of Riverside, is sponsoring two great days of entertainment and family fun in Riverside Park on Saturday and Sunday, September 17 and 18 from 11am to 4pm.

A variety of events, including bands, dance, martial arts and other demonstrations, plus Grandma’s Children’s Tent, will not only provide fun and entertainment but will highlight the beauty of Riverside and the historic neighborhood of East New London and the need to preserve this wonderful urban park for future generations.

New London Landmarks will sponsor Walk on the East Side on Saturday, September 17 at 1:00 and 3:00 ($15. For one or both walks) These walks are designed to highlight the historic Riverside neighborhood.
A Nature Walk in the Park, led by Glenn Dreyer, Director of the Connecticut College Arboretum, is also scheduled

The Olde Town Mill will also be open for tours.

Artists and Photographers are invited to an En Plein Air weekend to paint and photograph the park and neighborhood. Their work will be shown to the public at the Riverside Park Forum at Ocean Beach on October 13.

Down by the Riverside is in partnership with New London Landmarks, Tsetse Gallery, Northeast New London Neighborhood Association, Bike New London and other community organizations
