won a dramatic pair of games on Tuesday, posting overtime victories against in men's basketball and the University of Massachusetts-Boston in women's ice hockey. The following information was provided by William Tomasian, sports information director at Connecticut College:

Men's Basketball: Conn College 80, Mitchell 77

Matt Vadas (Spring Lake Heights, N.J.) scored a team-best 19 points and ignited the Camels on an 11-to-0 run late in the second half as Connecticut College erased a 62-53 deficit and went on to defeat Mitchell College 80-77 in overtime.

The Camels improve their record to 7-15 with the triumph, while the improving Mariners fall to 5-15.

Sophomore John Bullitt (Brookline, Mass.) chipped in with 18 points and five boards for the hosts. Rob Harrigan was 4-for-5 from three-point range en route to his 12 point effort. Sophomore Mason Lopez (Hoboken, N.J.) chipped in with 11 points, six rebounds and four assists for the Camels.

Mitchell College sophomore Joshua Ford (Jersey City, N.J.) exploded with a game-high 30 points and eight rebounds, shooting 12-for-16 from the field. Terrance Fisher (Richmond, Va.) chipped in with 12 points, six rebounds and five assists. Paul Jefferson (Waterbury, Conn.) and Enoch Contreras (Boca Raton, Fla.) reached double-digits with 11 and 10 points respectively.

The Mariners went on a 14-to-4 run to build their nine point advantage. Ford was productive in the post area and Jefferson capped the rally with consecutive field goals, burying a three-ball from the left side with 4:27 remaining to make it a 62-53 game.

But the Camels responded with a run of their own and Vadas was leading the charge for the home team. Harrigan scored a trifecta with 1:55 remaining to make it a 62-60 game. After Vadas converted with a pair of free throws to tie the game, Boris Jeremic (Rijeka, Croatia) induced a Mariner turnover with a steal and assisted Vadas for a deuce to put the Camels on top 64-62 with 36 seconds left.

However, the Mariners were not done and when Fisher assisted Ford for a bucket in the paint with two seconds left, the Camels and Mariners were knotted up in a 64-64 tie and headed for the extra session.

With 2:38 remaining, Jeremic assisted Lopez for a hoop on a nifty looking backdoor cut to put the Camels on top 71-68. Later on with 1:32 remaining, Vadas buried a triple from the left side, executing on a pick and pop play with Lopez's assistance.

But the Mariners simply would not go away and with three seconds left, Contreras buried a three from the top of the key to pull the visitors to within one in a 78-77 game.

Jeremic converted a pair of free throws with 1.5 seconds left to put the Camels on top by three. Contreras took the inbounds pass and heaved one from mid-court but the shot went off the back rim as time expired and the Camels prevailed with the 80-77 triumph.

Connecticut College out-scored Mitchell 24-to-8 at the foul line and held a 35-to-28 advantage on the backboards.

Women's Ice Hockey: Conn College 4, UMass-Boston 3

Samantha Shuffenecker (Oswego, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal with just 18 seconds left in overtime as Connecticut College out-lasted the UMass Boston Beacons in a 4-3 triumph.

The visitors put an end to their four game slide, evening their record at 9-9-2. The Beacons fall to 7-12-2 with the setback.

Senior assistant captain Lauren Posillico (Nesconset, N.Y.) chipped in with two scores for the winning side while junior Ariel DiPasquale (Whitestone, N.Y.) potted her 10th goal of the season for the Camels.

Rookie net-minder Kelsie Fralick (West Chester, Pa.) made 21 stops to earn the victory in goal for the visitors.

Emily Howard (Terryville, Conn.), Brittany Usmail (New Hartford, N.Y.) and Kayla Kiernan (North Smithfield, R.I.) supplied scores for the Beacons, who never trailed in the contest until Shuffenecker scored her game-winner.

Junior net-minder Jami Cudmore (Balgonie, Sasketchewan) finished with 24 saves for the hosts.

Kiernan scored her seventh goal of the season with 1:25 remaining in the second period to put the Beacons on top 3-2.

But in the third period, Posillico scored the equalizer with 15:03 remaining in regulation. Sam Schoeneberger (Vernon, Conn.) and Jen Morgan (Orange, Conn.) assisted on the marker.

In the later stages of the third period, the Camel penalty kill went to work as the visitors skated off two infractions. The Beacons' power play extended into the first 50 seconds of the extra session but the Camels were able to kill off the penalty successfully.

Connecticut College pressured UMass Boston in the overtime and with 18 seconds left, Shuffenecker supplied the game-winner. Jillian Dolliff (Excelsior, Minn.) and Amanda Bogue (Glastonbury, Conn.) assisted on the difference maker.
