Having read Governor Malloy’s comments made in the New London Day referring to 2nd Amendment supporters that showed up to reach out to their legislators Monday for the Lobby Day event, I cannot help but state that Connecticut’s Governor is far out of touch with the history of this state.

Connecticut has had a long tradition of not only the manufacturing of firearms and components, but also their use for various purposes which include hunting, target shooting and also their readiness for personal protection.
What has become clearer by each passing day is that Governor Malloy and many of his bureaucratic appointees have a set agenda to turn our rights that are affirmed by two Constitutions (United States and Connecticut) into mere privileges granted at the whim of the State.
As the head of one of the organizations that coordinated Monday’s Lobby Day, I point to my personal life experiences and call out Governor Dannel Malloy for the callous arrogance of his statement that labeled people “the fringe of the fringe”. Connecticut’s citizens should be wary of a leader that is dismissive of an overwhelmingly peaceful group of people that obey the law and are relentlessly vilified.
I am a lifelong resident of Connecticut, a parent, an employee of one company for over 22 years, a former licensed therapeutic foster-care provider and also a volunteer for the Department of Corrections for the past 18 years. I am also very proud to stand beside my fellow citizens in defense of our rights from attacks that are perpetrated by not only a temporary politician, but an ineffective one at that.
