New London Public Schools will start on schedule on Wednesday

Start wishing for snow days instead, all you students in the —Hurricane Irene didn’t put a dent in the school calendar.

Dr. Nicholas Fischer, superintendent of schools, said all of the schools in the district have electricity. He said there were some roof leaks during the storm, but no damage serious enough to cause a delay. He said a more thorough inspection will take place before the 2011-2012 school year starts on Wednesday.

“We will move one of our professional days into October, but nothing else will change,” he said.
