Buehler, a 1999 RMMS graduate, said the event is the board’s main fundraiser. Proceeds will go toward programs and projects proposed by teachers, with the board selecting which programs to fund in spring and fall grant cycles. The things sponsored by the grants have included field trips, e-readers for children having difficulty reading, and science and environmental programs.
The event got its name from its early days as a silent auction solely for works of art. The offerings have expanded to include gift certificates to restaurants, golf outings, a fishing trip, and other prizes.
Go Fish will cater the event, and the band Dogbite will provide live entertainment.
