Saturday event offers look at the cosmos

Connecticut College is offering a chance to get a closer look at the cosmos this weekend.

The Olin Observatory will be open from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday for stargazing, weather permitting. There will also be a planetarium show on fall and winter constellations as well as hands-on astronomy activities for adults and children.

The event is free and open to the public. It is being hosted by the Connecticut College’s Department of Physics, Astronomy, and Geophysics; the Thames Amateur Astronomical Society; the Children’s Museum of Southeastern Connecticut; and the Treworgy Planetarium at Mystic Seaport.
