Conn College Connects With Local Students

How Connecticut College is working to extend their campus activities to New London schools will be the topic of conversation at the Kiwanis Club meeting on Thursday.

The New London School District may have its problems but one of benefits is that the city is home to a number of institutes of higher learning that are willing and able to step forward and partner with local schools.

On Thursday, Ronald J.O Flores, associate professor of sociology of Connecticut College will speak about Conn College's efforts to link their student body activities with schools in New London. Flores is the featured speaker at the Kiwanis Club of New London's meeting, which will be held at the Clarke Center at Mitchell College from noon to 1:15 p.m.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.
