and students were exploring new buildings during the first day of school on Wednesday.
The schools have switched locations for the year, with Nathan Hale students attending school in portable classrooms on Cedar Grove Ave. and Winthrop students moving into the Nathan Hale building on Beech Drive. Jaye Wilson, principal at Winthrop, said her school will become a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics magnet high school and move again into new facilities on Grove Street after the winter break. Nathan Hale will become an arts magnet school and return to its building in two years following renovations.
