Fill The Spot: 922 Bank Street

New London location held a Kentucky Fried Chicken for decades

Looking at the realty sign for this building, I'm reminded of a headline from the satirical newspaper The Onion: "You Can Tell Area Bank Used To Be A Pizza Hut." Indeed, if a business moves into this New London site and keeps the building it will require a bit of work to make it look like something other than a fast food restaurant.

Kentucky Fried Chicken had a presence at 922 Bank Street starting with the construction of the building in 1970, but the realty listing notes that they were set to vacate the property no later than June 15, 2011. Since then, Pequot Commercial has been looking for a buyer for the 1,560 square foot building. Advertising it as a highly visible site with a good traffic count and easy access, the company is seeking $295,000.

As always, Pequot Commercial suggests a wide range of commercial uses applicable to the site including an art studio, night club, indoor recreation, office space, and reviving its old use as a fast food restaurant.
