COUNCIL PRESIDENT WILL NOT LET FACTS GET IN THE WAY

The statements by City Council President Wade Hyslop "As I look out, I see what New London is. And it's about inclusion," and "Every segment of the city is represented," are just not true.

The only possible reasons for these erroneous statements are, 1) Wade Hyslop as City Council President has not clue about the demographic makeup of the New London community, 2) Wade Hylop as City Council President has looked at the demographic makeup and cannot do the math to see that his statements are not true, 3) Wade Hyslop as City Council President just lies to the community because he does not think anyone will see through his lies, 4) Wade Hyslop as City Council President was told what to say by the administration.

No matter which of the above stated reasons you choose Wade Hyslop has done a great disservice to the community by starting out his term as City Council President with a series of FALSE statements to the community. Wade Hyslop as City Council President closed his statements with this "I want people to understand we are all working for them,", does anyone in New London believe that?

New London has a population that is 49.4% White

New London has a population that is 27.7% Hispanic

New London has a population that is 14.7% Black

New London has a population that is 3.9% Asian

New London has a City Council that is 42.85% Black

New London has a City Council that is 42.85% White

New London has a City Council that is 14.28% Hispanic

New London has a City Council that is 0% Asian

The largest Heritage grouping in New London is the Irish with 10.5%

The next largest Heritage grouping in New London is the Italians with 8.7%

The next largest Heritage grouping in New London is the Germans with 7.3%

The next largest Heritage grouping in New London is the English with 5.6%

The next largest Heritage grouping in New London is the Polish with 4.3%

The next largest Heritage grouping in New London is the West Indians with 3.9%

The City Council Makeup in New London is not at all proportionately representative of the demographic makeup of the city. The City Council president Wade Hyslop has demonstrated from day one as Council President that he will not at any time allow the facts to get in the way of his message or that of the administration.
