Choose wisely at the polls

Election Day is Tuesday, as I read the story outlining the latest results of the saga of the Finizio administration: Case # 2013-A-0010 Northup, Thomas the picture is clear of what the future holds for New London if the mayor gets a City Council that is made up of his democratic town committee gang of seven apostles.

The mayor and the mayor alone made the final decision to fire officer Northup, the hearing documentation states “Our decision is premised on the fact that the city ignored or misapplied clear and longstanding legal precedents, presumably contained in its own General Order and training protocol, when it concluded that the Grievant’s statement and belief that his life was in jeopardy could not be sustained”.

WOW what can you really say about this? The mayor is an attorney and has a city attorney at his disposal to review such decisions and yet the decision is wrong and again the taxpayers must foot the bill as the mayor continues on his crusade to decimate the police department and public safety.

The mayor in his quest for greatness eliminated the existing leadership and supervisory staff in the police department selecting a group that would come to the conclusions that the mayor wanted in spite of the facts and applicable legal precedent.

This decision by the mayor like so many other decisions has been proven to be foolish and made in contrary to all sound reasoning and logic.

When the people of New London go to the polls to vote on Tuesday they should keep in mind that the mayor has endorsed a slate of seven candidates that will support and further his quest to rule the city of New London without question from the council and with complete disregard for the people of New London or for what is right and just.

Each vote cast for a city council candidate on ROW B is a vote cast in support of the past and future actions of Mayor Finizio.
