What's Going On At Montauk Ave.?

Answer: road work, of course, this being summer in New England.

Bill Camosci, assistant director of engineering services with the New London Department of Public Works, said the work on Montauk Ave. is slated to be completed in mid-August.

The $2.4 million project, overseen by contractor American Industries, is doing work on a 7,200 foot stretch of road from the railroad overpass to the intersection with Pequot Ave. The project includes the installation and replacement of sidewalks, granite stone curbing, and storm drainage systems. It will also mill and pave the roadway, extending the bike path incorporated into the roadway in the first phase of the project.
