Two Promoted To Captain In New London Police Department

Todd Bergeson, Brian Wright fill vacancies left by outgoing captains

Mayor Daryl Finizio said a reorganization in the 's command is complete following the promotion of two lieutenants to the rank of captain.

Lts. Todd Bergeson and Brian Wright have been promoted, according to a statement from the mayor's office. Finizio said the men were the top two candidates qualified for the positions. Bergeson and Wright are shift commanders in the department's uniformed services division, according to the department's website. Bergeson has been with the department since 1994 and Wright has been with the department since 1997.

“After six long months, the upper level management restructuring in the New London Police Department is now complete,” Finizio said. “I believe this fresh management team will bring new energy to the department and will help unify the department behind a policy of community policing.”
