Transfer Station Will Have Some Saturday Hours During Holidays

Weekend hours cut under New London budget for FY 2013, but will be available around holidays

The transfer station at 63 Lewis Street will be open for four Saturdays in the remainder of the fiscal year.

The station will be open 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Jan. 26, Feb. 23, March 30, and June 1. These are the regular Monday through Friday hours as well.

Saturday hours were cut under the fiscal year 2013 budget for the Department of Public Works. The special Saturday hours correspond with holiday weeks for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President's Day, Good Friday, and Memorial Day. The station will be closed on these holidays.
