Police Chief: Do Not Treat-or-Treat for Halloween

Chief says the danger is high with downed wires.

A statement from the Town of Waterford:

"In the interest of public safety, Police Chief Murray Pendleton is encouraging all residents to refrain from trick-or-treating for Halloween Wednesday night.

With downed power lines and debris on darkened sidewalks and roadways, children will be at risk of injury."

I wish they'd say when we ARE supposed to go - although it might be nice to be surprised by trick or treaters on any night during the next week.

Why are we waiting for our Town Gov't to select a day - we "the people" should just do it. I suggest everyone just select a day like, Sun. Nov. 11, since the children have a holiday from school the next day - Veterans Day. Let's go for it ... join in - pass the word - Sun. Nov. 11th is Halloween in Waterford.
