Recall Issued on Reser's Fine Foods Products

Certain types of refrigerated ready-to-eat products from a Topeka, KS, manufacturing plant could be contaminated with Listeria.

Reser's Fine Foods of Beaverton, OR, is recalling 109,000 cases of refrigerated ready-to-eat products because it may be contaminated with Listeria, an organism that can cause serious infections in young, frail or elderly people or people with compromised immune systems.

The food packages, which were sold to both retail and food-service establishments, include cole slaw, pasta dishes, potato dishes, deviled eggs and seafood dishes, among many others.

The affected packages will be marked with "Use by" date or "Best by" date followed by a plant identifier code of "20." The products that might be affected were manufactured at the Topeka, KS, salad-manufacturing facility.

Consumers who have purchased one of the affected packages can take it back to the store for a refund or discard it.
