Paige Donovan Named New Tax Assessor

Paige Donovan has been promoted to the position of New London’s tax assessor, Mayor Daryl Finizio announced today.

Donovan, the former assistant tax assessor, has been the acting assessor since the beginning of the year. Former assessor Barbara Perry retired on Dec. 31.

"With the re-evaluation process starting, I have every confidence that Mrs. Donovan is the right person to lead this department at this time," said Finizio.

A freeze has been placed on municipal hiring, but Finizio said the assessor’s position was exempted since it was classified as essential. He said the decision was made after an open search and interview process.
