Two financial offices in City Hall will close early at the end of the week and open late next week to move across the street to another municipal building.
The tax collector's office and tax assessor's office, currently located on the second floor of City Hall, will close at noon on Friday to move into 13 Masonic Street. The offices will reopen on at noon on March 18.
The offices will be located in the space at the former Savings Institute Bank and Trust, which closed its New London branch at the end of last year. The building is owned by the city, and the Finance Department offices are on the second floor.
Telephone numbers for offices will not change. Zak Leavy, executive assistant to Mayor Daryl Finizio, said the city is examining which offices will move into the City Hall space but that no decisions have been made at this point.
