New London Municipal Meetings For The Week Of May 20

The following municipal meetings have been scheduled for the week of May 20:

May 20

  • Administration Committee, 5 p.m., City Hall (Council Chambers). Agenda includes revisions to the peddlers and vendors ordinance, a legal opinion regarding the Board of Assessment Appeals, and resignations from and appointments to boards.
  • Public Safety Committee, 6 p.m., City Hall (Council Chambers). Agenda includes discussion on the Police-Community Relations Committee.
  • Board of Ethics, 6 p.m., Genealogy Room of the Public Library of New London. Agenda includes publishing amendments and correspondence from the law director.
  • City Council, 7 p.m., City Hall (Council Chambers). Agenda includes a second reading of the 2014 budget; correspondence from the Parks and Recreation Commission on the installation of an Emilie Parker memorial playground at Riverside Park; approval of contracts for Public Works vehicle, roadwork, the final phase of the sports center complex work, and Bates Woods Park improvements; and whether to have the transfer station open for half a day on Saturdays once a month.

May 21

  • Foreign Trade Zone, 5:30 p.m., Stanton Building conference room (111 Union Street)
  • Special meeting of the City Council, 7 p.m., City Hall (Council Chambers). The council will have a third and final reading on the 2014 budget proposal.

May 23

  • Board of Education, 7 p.m., Science and Technology Magnet High School lecture hall. An agenda has not yet been published.
