Finizio Joins Mayors Against Illegal Guns

Organization pledges to combat illegal acquisition and use of firearms

Mayor Daryl Finizio announced Tuesday that he has become a member of Mayors Against Illegal Guns.

"Mayors Against Illegal Guns strives to find innovative ways to punish criminals that possess, use and traffic illegal guns," said Zak Leavy, Finizio's executive assistant, in a press release. "The coalition works to develop technology that will track and find illegal guns and those that are involved in trafficking. Furthermore, they support all local, state and federal legislation that targets illegal drugs and coordinates enforcement strategies dealing with trafficking."

The organization states on its website that it is a non-partisan group, that it supports Second Amendment rights, and that it recognizes that the majority of gun dealers and owners abide by the law. Members from Connecticut include Mayor Pedro E. Segarra of Hartford and Mayor John DeStefano of New Haven.

"Getting illegal guns off our streets is a top priority for my administration," said Finizio.

Very good move. But why only three mayors from Connecticut? That is the real story!

Now this is a good thing.

It's much bigger than just a few cities in Connecticut. There are member chapters in many many cities nationwide. Lots of links, member list, and program information here: http://www.mayorsagainstillegalguns.org/html/home/home.shtml

Randy: I should clarify that Finizio is the eighth Connecticut mayor to join the coalition. I mentioned the Hartford and New Haven mayors since they're the two largest cities in the state, but the mayors from Bridgeport, Hamden, Norwalk, West Hartford, and West Haven are members as well.

Funny, there ar 19,335 cities & townships that have mayors. Why is it that only 600 or less have bought into the lie that is Mayors Aginst Law Abiding Citizens defending themselves, or less than 3%? Every group has it extremist fringe subgroups, and the anti gun liars at MAIG are the extreme leftist progressive Nazis we expect from the shrinking minority that is the lie that gun control works!

Mayor Daryl Finizio has signed up to be one of Bloomberg's Judas Goats trying to lead the sheep to slaughter. He joins an elite group of dead previous mayors who still sign letters to Congress, felons who cannot touch a gun legally but have taxpayer provided armed bodyguards and private armies and well meaning simpletons who will jump on any bandwagon without bothering to find out where it is going. Way to go Mayor, I wish you good luck in your next job, this may well cost you your current one.

Maybe Mayors Against Illegal Guns can get some pointers from Eric Holder on how to track illegal guns.
