Dickie Anderson Trial Is Underway

According to The Day, the New London jury for the Dickie E. Anderson Jr. trial was first presented with the story of victim, Renee Pellegrino.

Both the jury and Pellegrino's mother, Jean Russell of Quaker Hill, watched a video of the crime scene, the article says.

Despite recommendations against viewing the footage, Russell said in the article, "I have to know."

According to a second article in The Day, the trial moved on to the crime scene of second victim Michelle Comeau on Wednesday.

Two sisters, then ages 6 and 10, told the courtroom what had happened when their late stepfather discovered a naked body in the road, the article says.

Winston Chin was next to come across the scene after leaving his job in the Norwich Industrial park.

According to the article, Chin said he couldn't feel a pulse and did not attempt CPR. He did, however, cover the body with a jacket because, "It was the right thing to do," the article says.

State trooper Donald Aitken described the markings on Comeau's body, the article says, and noted that both Comeau's and Pellegrino's bodies were discovered in similar crucifix-like positions.
