Candidates Look Forward To Primary Result

With five hours left before the polls close in the Democratic primary, two candidates for mayor were anticipating the final tally.

Both Michael Buscetto III and Daryl Finizio said they have been focusing their efforts on getting people out to vote. Buscetto was chosen as the candidate by the , but Finizio gathered enough signatures to open to every registered Democrat in the city.

"We've run a clean campaign...We concentrate on what we're doing and getting the message out," said Buscetto.

Finizio said he is glad to see the interest in the campaign and encouraged everyone who can vote in the primary to do so by 8 p.m.

"We feel it's going to be a very close election, and people have a good choice," he said. "And we hope they'll come out and make the choice as they see fit."

Polling stations are divided by district and available at the on Jefferson Ave., on Montauk Ave., and on Beech Drive.

Buscetto said he plans to be at the Democratic headquarters after the close of the polls. Finizio said he will be at starting at 9:30 p.m.
