Investigators Remain On Scene After Fatal Accident

Police close portion of Vauxhall Street after car crash kills two

Police are investigating a fatal accident which occurred early Sunday morning.

Two people died of their injuries after an accident which occurred in the area of Vauxhall Street and Channing Street. The condition of a third person in the vehicle was not released. According to the police log, the accident occurred shortly before 12:30 a.m.

Officers and investigators remained on the scene mid-day Sunday, closing off the road and sidewalk of Vauxhall Street between Williams Street and Nathan Hale Street. The wrecked BMW vehicle also remained on the scene, and appeared to have run off the road and collided with a pine tree near the entrance of the

Deputy Chief Marshall Segar of the said further information is being withheld due to the ongoing investigation.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of these young people, this is a sad sad day! Since graduating from high school these tragic events have been happening, New London its time for us as a community to step up and come together so we can stop loosing our children in this manner! My heart bleeds of hearing this news today! So close to home! My family and I send our deepest sympathies to the families! May God keep you at this time!
