Two Charged In Brazilian Market Burglary—One Now Faces Additional Charges For Setting Fire To Toilet Tissue In Her Cell

New London Police were able to swiftly apprehend two suspects following a burglary on October 26. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a third suspect.

On October 26 at 7:23 p.m., New London Police responded to a burglar alarm at the Brazilian Market, located at 81 Truman Street. Upon arrival, officers found that the front door to the store had been kicked in and the store burglarized.  

Officers interviewed several witnesses and broadcast a description of the suspects, two females and one male. Officers stopped two females, 25-year-old Satasha Senior of 103 Truman Street, New London, and 23-year-old Darnicia Robinson of 7 Denison Avenue, New London, two blocks away, both whom matched the description given by the witnesses.

Both women were positively identified, found to be in possession of stolen items from the store and were arrested. Satasha Senior was charged with burglary 1st degree, larceny 6th degree and criminal mischief 3rd degree. Senior was additionally charged for setting fire to toilet tissue and causing damage to the holding cell facility within police headquarters.

Darnicia Robinson was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary 3rd degree and larceny 6th degree. 

Officers obtained information about the man allegedly involved and applied for an arrest warrant for him. The case remains open and the investigation is continuing.
