Two Charged In Bank Street Altercation

New London Police Department arrests men on second-degree assault charges

The arrested two men after an altercation early this morning on Bank Street.

Deputy Chief Peter Reichard said patrol officers responded to a report of a fight between three men in the area of 176 Bank Street at about 2:37 a.m. One man was lying on the ground with an injury to the head when police arrived. The wound was not considered life threatening and the man was taken to .

A witness identified the two other men involved in the fight as Clement Bell and Tyrell Cook, both of 1 Crystal Lake Road in Groton. Bell and Cook were arrested on charges of second-degree assault. Police determined that the victim struck Bell before he was pushed to the ground and kicked in the head.
