Two Cars Hit Two Buildings In New London Yesterday

New London Police responded to two Car vs. Building accidents, one on Pequot Avenue and the other on Vauxhall Street.

New London Police responded to not one but two car vs. building accidents yesterday.

Shortly before 8 p.m. police received 911 calls reporting that a car had driven into a house at 182 Vauxhall Street. They arrived to find the car's front end in the living room of the three family house.

Both the driver, Fabiola Belidor, 23, and a small child who was a passenger in the vehicle, were taken to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries. Police charged Belidor for driving with a suspended license and with failure to stop at a stop sign.

Channel 8 reports that the building was condemned until its structural integrity could be assessed and the car removed.

The second incident occurred earlier in the day yesterday. At about 3:30 p.m. police responded to reports that a car had hit a house at or near 490 Pequot Avenue. According to police, the car had been parked on a steep hill and the emergency brake wasn't on. There were no reported injuries and just slight damage to the building.
