Two Arrested in Domestic Incident

Police Charge Stabbing, False Report

Police arrested a man and a woman early Monday morning on charges that a domestic incident led to a stabbing and false report to police.

Officers booked 21-year-old Maribel Perez, of 48 Crystal Avenue, on second-degree charges of assault, falsely reporting an incident, and reckless conduct. Also arrested was 22-year-old Cristian Serrano, of the same address, on charges of falsely reporting an incident, breach of peace, and second-degree unlawful restraint.

According to Deputy Chief Marshall Segar, officers responding to the apartment found that Perez had stabbed Serrano in the shoulder with a kitchen knife. Segar said at least two children were present in the residence at the time of the incident. Serrano was taken to by the and later arrested there.

Serrano was accused of holding down Perez during the incident. He was also charged with misleading police in order to protect Perez by saying they had been attacked by masked robbers.

Perez was held on a $25,000 bond, and Serrano was held on a $10,000 bond.
