Groton Man Says Texting Led Him To Leave Baby In Hot Car

Groton man left six-month-old inside a hot car for 30 minutes.

Texting can make you drive erratically, and now a Groton father is blaming texting on leaving his child in a boiling hot car for 30 minutes Tuesday afternoon.

Brian Pavao, 33, of Groton, told police he was texting when he pulled into a parking space at a ShopRite in New London Tuesday afternoon, WFSB 3 television reports.

Pavao said he forgot that his six-month-old was in the car and he went inside to shop, WFSB reports.

The baby was inside the 130 degree car for 30 minutes and when police arrived the baby was crying and soaked in sweat. The man was charged with risk of injury. When he was being driven away by police he asked that the windows be rolled down, WFSB reports.

He should be left in a boiling hot car with the windows up for a week, the stupid fool!

There is no excuse and I wish people would stop trying to make excuses for these idiots.

What is wrong with people? You don't "forget" that you are caring for an infant. Are these people all on drugs or drinking? I feel so bad for these babies, screaming and roasting in a car because some idiot is too self-involved to "remember" that they are there.
