Suspect Sought In Attempted Robbery At New London Mall

Two Radio Shack employees suffer minor injuries in Black Friday incident

The New London Police Department was looking for a suspect in an attempted robbery in the parking lot of the New London Mall on Black Friday.

Deputy Chief Peter Reichard said a man confronted two Radio Shack employees as they walked across the lot toward Bank of America at 5:43 p.m. After a brief struggle, the man fled when a police officer approached. The employees were treated at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.

The man was last seen running toward the Colman Street overpass of I-95. He was described as thin, white, about five feet five inches tall, with a beard and short blond hair. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans, and white sneakers.
