Routine Home Visit By Parole Officers Leads To Drug and Firearms Arrest

New London Police discovered approximately 100 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine while assisting Parole Officers from the State of Connecticut with what police say was a routine visit to a home at 18 Town Hill Court in New London on October 24. Members of New London Police Department's Patrol, Detective and Narcotics Divisions found some of the narcotics packaged for street sale.

Police also found a .25 caliber handgun with an altered serial number, a small amount of marijuana, and a total of $3,343 in cash at the home. The discovery led to the arrest of Byron Wilson, a convicted felon, who is charged with two counts of possession of narcotics, two counts of possession with intent to sell, two counts of possession with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a housing project, operating a drug factory, criminal possession of a firearm, altering or removing identification mark from a firearm, and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Wilson was held in lieu of $125,000 bond. Wilson's brother, Charles Perry who was the parolee that law enforcement officials were visiting in the first place, was remanded to the Department of Corrections by Parole Officers.
